ABOUT OUR PARTNERS
Join us for A Barn Dance With Brooklyn Contra, New York’s most approachable social dance! There will be live music from the Petrichord playing joyous, dynamic, interpretations of traditional Appalachian and Irish tunes to help you whirl across the dance floor. Contra dance is an easy-to-learn folk dance similar to square dancing with some swing dance flair. Originating in northern Appalachia based on English and French formal dances, contra is now danced around the country by multi-generational communities. No partner necessary and all dances are taught before the dance!
Tash Kouri (they/them) is an airbrush face and body painter living in Brooklyn, NY. With humble roots busking as a teenage living statue in Times Square, Tash has been painting the skin of models, rockstars, circus performers, wedding guests, regular folk and romantic interests for an embarrassingly long time.
Bringing the best trees (and pumpkins!) to Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn for over 35 years!
Two portrait studios, a wardrobe and hair & makeup area, a kid-friendly lounge, walls of backdrops, gifts and frames to browse. A neighborhood space made for families.
